Cocktails with Joyce Grenfell

LONDON REVUE COMPANY

A Sparkling Musical Entertainment

Written and Performed by Nicola Keen & Malcolm McKee

‘An amazing show . . . a fantastic evening’ BBC

In this delightfully funny musical revue, Nicola transports us back to Britain in the 40s and 50s with her recreation of national treasure, Joyce Grenfell. The evening features the best of Joyce’s comedy songs and monologues from ‘Stately as a Galleon’ to ‘School Nativity Play’. Add to the mix comic numbers by Flanders & Swann and Noël Coward, and you have all the ingredients for a delicious encounter with one of Britain’s best-loved comediennes.

‘Nicola captures not just the comedy of the wonderful Joyce Grenfell but also the essence of the woman who kept the world laughing for deades. Loved it!’ BBC

Nicola Keen’s West End appearances include Guys and Dolls with Ewan McGregor and the National Theatre’s Oklahoma! with Hugh Jackman. Work as choreographer includes Inside No 9 (BBC 2, BAFTA Award for Best Comedy) and Eric and Little Ern (Vaudeville, Olivier Award nomination Best Entertainment).

Malcolm McKee is well known to Radio 4 audiences as Graham Ryder in The Archers. As a composer, West End shows include The Shakespeare Revue (RSC, Off-Broadway), The Madness of George III (Apollo) and When We Are Married (Garrick, Olivier Award nomination Best Revival).
